Screenings and Talk at Takada Sekaikan in Joetsu, Niigata
Please Respond, Cotton Town will be screened in Joetsu, Niigata, starting Saturday, November 1. The venue is the legendary Takada Sekaikan—one of Japan’s oldest cinemas, designated as both a Registered Tangible Cultural Property and a Modernization Heritage site.
Opened in 1911, this historic theater has been lovingly preserved through the dedication and passion of local citizens, standing today as a true “sanctuary of cinema.” Director Gen Iwama will attend the screening on Sunday, November 2, at 14:15 for a post-screening talk.
We warmly invite everyone to join us—come enjoy both the film and the beautiful city of Joetsu, with its remarkable architecture.
Please note that the screening schedule may vary by date; for details, visit the theater’s official website: https://takadasekaikan.com/
